Ride the Gondola to the top of North Stratton and hike the 1-mile ridgeline to the true summit. Climb the historic Stratton fire tower to admire the stunning views of the southern Green Mountains, and see why James P. Taylor was inspired to start construction of the nation's oldest long-distance hiking trail: Vermont's Long Trail. You may even get a glimpse into the lives of the resident summit caretakers!
