The Yoga of Awakening
Limited Capacity seats available

Healing happens when we begin to mend the separation in our consciousness between the mind, body and spirit. Understanding this interdependency can radically shift the way we “see” the body, empowering us to support our own health and wellness in a more integrated- and therefore holistic-way. Through yoga, we can explore the mind/body connection, the impact our emotional life has on our health, how to “read” or map the body symbolically, and how to interpret these physiological/emotional messages as spiritual guidance meant to open us to love, acceptance and to appreciate the interconnection that binds us all as one. All levels; some discussion, mostly asana.

Embodied Wisdom: Transcending Limiting Beliefs

Mastery of the mind begins in the body. Andrea will open the session with a short talk on the myriad ways in which we limit ourselves. By expanding our boundaries and taking bold risks, we can free ourselves from the constraints of the mind and trust that all is coming. To hone the body's intelligence, we'll begin with a short mantra-based meditation seated back-to-back with a partner and then stretch out with some organic, intuitive movement before setting forth on our hike. We'll also pause for a few trust exercises with a partner—and maybe even some partner yoga—before we finish with a special meditation technique that dares us to be vulnerable.

Master Class: Advanced Charging Practice
Limited Capacity seats available

Advanced Charging Practice is great way to explore some of the more advanced postures that Sri Dharma Mittra has been practicing and teaching for years, as well as to experience how well they pair with guided meditation in Shavasana. The class will begin with the chanting of Om and dedication of the practice, then move into Sun Salutations to warm up the body followed by about 70-minutes of practice of the main and most efficient yoga postures. If one holds the poses long enough, there is often a chance to taste meditation right there in the Asana. The class will conclude with a deep experience of short-form Yoga Nidra. When we really relax, a great amount of healing can take place both on the physical and subtle levels. This class will serve as a chance to experience the Dharma Yoga method and will constitute a complete practice of yoga.

As a former long distance runner, Andrea will employ a few circuit training drills and run/walk intervals throughout the hike, to get your blood pumping and test your endurance. Andrea will emphasize that all participants "sweat safely"—drinking plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and paying attention to cues from the body to not overextend limitations. The biggest challenge? To honor where you're at that day. We'll finish with a relaxing and regenerative yoga nidra—a guided meditation to re-establish effortless awareness—to restore serenity in both body and mind.
